It’s a done deal!! We closed on our house yesterday, so it’s officially all ours! I can not begin to tell you how wonderful it is to own our own home. It’s been a long time coming too. We’ve talked about having a house built over the years and now just seemed like the perfect time, as perfect as it will ever be! When we first started the process, 2 months and a few days ago, it all seemed so daunting and we’ve never purchased a house before. In all honesty, it went well, really well. I know this is not always...

It’s That Time Of year….for me to move!! While I’d love to be posting all about Christmas and all those things I love, I am in fact moving this month and before Christmas! I mentioned it in a previous post but didn’t say too much at the time. It has been happening and we decided to have a house built in Washington! It is time that we settle down and grow some roots and finally be home owners instead of renters. I am so ready for this next chapter in our life. I don’t really recommend moving during the holidays,...

It is so hard to believe that it is actually October! Time here in Hawaii has flown by. Is it starting to get cooler where you live? Is fall in the air or are you like me…warm or hot all year long. It seems to be unusually warm for this time of year here. It should be getting a bit cooler during the day and night but not so much. I really miss seasons and just being comfortable weather wise all year long. It’s been a very long time since I’ve experienced that though, the perfect balance of temperatures all year round....

Some of you may or may not have noticed that I have posts missing. There are few things worse than all of a sudden finding or seeing an issue with your site and having to pull it all apart piece by piece only to find out as well that you did not back it up well enough also. Learn from me people. I all of a sudden had issues with my site redirecting after a few seconds to several different sites that I have nothing to do with. I use GoDaddy for hosting, so I contacted them immediately to see if it was something happening on their end....

Aloha Friday! It’s been a crazy but amazing few weeks since we arrived in Hawaii! We flew into Honolulu on July 8th. We stayed at the Aston Beach Hotel in Waikiki for a week before moving to our condo. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, we picked up our new car on the 2nd day here in Hawaii. We worked with Military Car Sales while we were still living in Japan and had a 2014 Jeep Compass Latitude built for us! We love it. It is beautiful and is the perfect vehicle for us. We chose not to live on base here and it was the perfect decision...

We are coming full circle as of tomorrow morning, July 8th. We will leave Japan and head to our new home in Hawaii. It’s hard to honestly say I am sad about leaving Japan. I know so many who wish they could stay longer or that they will miss this thing, that thing and many other “things”.  I have been lucky or blessed, which ever you prefer to have been able to live in Japan. I would not trade it nor do I wish it did not happen. There are many great memories I shall leave Japan with. Friends, there have been a few great...

Part 2 of my Birthday adventure on May 25th! I love anything to do with the ocean, marine life. I heard about this place shortly after we had moved to Japan. There was another Aquarium which we went to the first year we were here and it was in Aomori and I do believe I will have to write a post about that place as well in the future. Since this would be my last chance to get to this little aquarium, no better day than my birthday. I will admit, it was a bit confusing finding this place. I will post the directions I have at the end of...

Since moving to Japan, I have done more adventuring on my Birthdays! Cake, ice cream & presents are wonderful but finding and seeing new things brings much peace and joy to my heart! This was my last birthday to celebrate here in Japan so this Peony Festival was the first stop of my day. It was not a particularly beautiful day, in fact it was quite overcast and kind of muggy. I prefer this over what the alternative was supposed to be, rain. For those of you wondering this festival takes place from usually late May to very early June....

Come Spring time here in Japan, one of the most amazing and beautiful things are the sunsets. In the three years of living here, it’s one of the things I look forward to. Since this is my last Spring here I decided I wanted to take a series of sunset photographs. I ended up taking photographs for 7 consecutive days and I will be sharing one photograph from each day. I am not a professional photographer and so these photo’s are far from perfect. None of them have been edited aside from cropping. I live in a tower on the 2nd...

April is gone and May is flying by! So much has recently happened, all having to do with our move to Hawaii. Exciting times for sure. The photo above is of our stuff, all packed then sealed into crates which are now on their way by sea, to Hawaii! This happened on May 1st. The packers/movers came at 8am an they were done and gone by 2:30pm. That night was a very rough night though, I hope to never relive it,lol. We had no furniture or anything in the house but 2 blankets and 2 pillows…good times were not had. Made for a miserable...
